CROCE D'AUNE and FALCADE

The first weekend in February 2005 we went on a ski weekend trip in the Dolomites. We were invited to our friends ski cabin in Croce d'Aune near Feltre. We started the trip Friday night from Ravenna and arrived just 4 hours later in the mountains. That night we could not see where we actually ended up, but to our pleasant surprise we woke up in the middle of beautiful mountains with the most beautiful sunrise. Thanks to Lina we got to see the sunrise each morning.

After waxing the boards and sharpening the edges we departed deeper into the Dolomites to Falcade. Falcade is a great place for combining downhill skiing with some cross-country skiing. Ivonne brought the Alpiners to the base and went for the Centro Fondo with Lina. Check out the little movies and panorama from the top of the mountain.

After a whole day of snowboarding and skiing, we went to a brewery in Pedavena and later met up with some friends of Valentina for late night pizza. Doug did have a little injury on the last run, but no broken bones.
Sunday we stayed in Croce d'Aune, where Davide got to try Doug's snowboard and we all went for a beautiful winter walk. After lunch Doug and I hit the cross-country slopes nearby and gave Lina a good run.
We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend in the snow. I will let the pictures tell the rest. Enjoy!!!
