Another 3 months flew by

I blinked and Maxwell is rolling through the room at speed to get to the other side; wriggling to the cane chair and trying to topple it or to a piece of paper that fell from my overfilled desk onto the floor and to chew on it.

He has his first two teeth cutting through which make him screech all day long. He does not want to lay down in his crib and just watch me while cleaning the house - screeech, he does not want to sit alone at the table while I prepare his food - screeeech, he does not like to play by himself on the floor anymore but wants me there with him - screeeeeech. On top of it all, Sam finds it amusing and is using that same loud screech to get his attention. Soon I will be screeching.

I love them all and here they are My Boys:

Happy 4 months birthday Maxwell!

I know that kid #2 gets a lot less attention, also less camera time. I am trying to make an effort and give Maxwell also some of my undivided attention every day, as well as some camera time. Although often he is in the carrier on me, so he is hiding in most pictures or often not on it, because I am the one taking the pictures.

Maxwell is a very happy baby. He smiles a lot and loves faces. He can look at his own face in the mirror for many minutes and giggles while doing so. He also gives a loud giggly laugh when Sam goofs around with him. It is really fun to watch.
Maxwell follows me, Doug or Sam with his eyes through the room. When on tummy time he occasionally has rolled over onto his back. He loves to put things into his mouth, like bite-rings, blankets and his thumb or even his whole hand. His latest trick is to take the pacifier out of his mouth, wave it around a couple of times and then put it back in, all with a smile.

Here the latest pictures:

I AMSTERDAM

We already had a lot of visitors this year. It is different, because usually we are the ones traveling around the world to see friends and family. This year however the family and friends are coming to Amsterdam. Doug's dad, and both brothers made it over here, also because of business trips are taking them to Europe now (Germany and Netherlands). Anyway, here some pictures sight-seeing with family.

Green on green

Maxwell at almost 3 months.

Friends told us before we had baby number 2 that we did not know yet what tired means. Well, I think now we are in the know-how. I am exhausted. Sometimes (actually more often than not) I wake up tired. Maxwell is actually a good sleeper, especially at night. But being always there for two kids is quite a task. I love it, but I also feel it. I am not even sure if all I am writing makes sense, so I better stop and get some sleep.

First time out on the water

On Monday we went on a friends sailing boat. Sam and their kids had a great time on the boat, in the water and on land. It was a fantastic day. It also was Maxwell's first day out sailing. He loved the waves and most of the time slept below deck (out of the sun).

And here are the three little sailors: Louis, Sam and Frances.

This picture was taken while sailing under a highway bridge. Sam and Francis were a little worried if we would fit. We did!
