Big block of cheese

Yesterday Sam surprised us by biting into our big block of Gouda cheese. Who says he is not eating enough? It actually started by taking the cheese of the cheese plane (an important Dutch kitchen utensil that shaves the cheese of the cheese block).
Do you see the teeth marks on the block of cheese? He has 8 teeth in the front and 4 new molars that have given us a little trouble again.

Trip to Germany

We just got back from our trip to Hamburg, Kiel and Dresden. In Hamburg we visited my sister and Doug stayed for work. The first weekend we went to Kiel to watch the German Sailing Grand Prix - we can't stay away from these big boats and Doug can't wait to put Sam in one of these little ones. We had great weather and awesome views of the race course. We stayed with Armin and Susanne at their home near Kiel and enjoyed some relaxing evenings with them.
Sam and I visited my family in Dresden during Doug's work week and at the end of the week we all came together again in Hamburg at my sisters place. It was a lot of traveling by train and car, but Sam and Lina did great. Our first morning back in Amsterdam Sam climbed into his backpack which was still standing in the living room unpacked. I carried him around the apartment a little which he enjoyed. I think he missed our little adventures.

New hat

The day after I wrote the blog on hats Sam lost yet another hat, a khaki sun hat. He sometimes just takes them off while on the bike or in the backpack and holds it out to the side and lets it fly. I biked all the way back to where we had started but didn't find the hat. Today, I saw a hat I liked while shopping for kids gifts. What do you think?
