	Weekend in Sicily In the beginning of October we went with friends and colleagues to Trapani in Sicily. On Saturday most of us went out on a boat to watch the America's Cup boats race in the last pre-regattas of this year while Sam and I walked through the streets and AC park of Trapani. On Sunday we visited with Davide and Valentina the Segesta Temple and a little town on a hill over Trapani called Erice. On our way back from Trapani to Palermo we stopped in Monreale to see the mosaics of this magnificent cathedral. Enjoy the pictures here.
	Vacation in Slovenia For the first two weeks of September 2005 we went on vacation with Sam and Lina. First we stayed a week in the Julian Alps, but cold nights in a tent drove us further to the south. We tried the coast, didn't like it and went back to the hills. This time just not as far north. There we got surprised by two solid days of rain, so we packed up again and moved to a beautiful house in the Karst region. There we enjoyed Mediterranean weather without the beach clubs. Slovenia is a beautiful place. It wasn't hard to enjoy the landscapes on our many hikes. For pictures click here.

	Camping weekend near Siena Mid-August we headed for a little break from the every-day-life to the Toscana. We camped in our little tent with Lina and Sam which was a try-out for our planned summer vacation. Everything worked out great. Siena was beautiful and we were lucky to be there for all the preparations for IL PALIO - the horse race in the center of Siena. For pictures click here.

top	Dolomites ski trip II In the middle of March 2005 we went on another ski trip in the Dolomites. This time we were joined by Ivonne's parents. For pictures click here. top	Ski weekend The first weekend in February 2005 we went on a ski weekend trip in the Dolomites. We were invited to our friends ski cabin in Croce d'Aune near Feltre. We had lots of fun in the snow though the first picture doesn't say that or does it? More pictures here.	Xmas 2004 We did the grand Christmas tour this year. We went to a lot of places and saw a lot of friends and family. Though the traveling was exhausting, seeing all of you was just wonderful. Read about our Christmas story here.
top	Ravenna After only 8 month in Amsterdam, we came to Ravenna for Doug's work. There is no denying it, the sun shines here a lot more than in Amsterdam. Still it was another difficult good-bye, but hopefully not forever. Stay in touch, you Amsterdamers and come visit the sun! To see more about our start in Ravenna click here	Florence and Milan Late November and early December we did two weekend trips to Florence and to Milan. We immediatly fell in love with Florence and enjoyed walking through the city and its sights for two full days. A place where we will return to in near future. For lots of pictures click here
top	Dresden In August 2004 we escaped the heat in Ravenna and went to Dresden for a long weekend. The drive was 10 hours through the night, but I bet my dad will top that! It was great to see my family and my hometown where the Frauenkirche is rebuilt (they just finished the outside). I have more pictures posted here.	Lina In May 2004 we got Lina at the dog pound in Amsterdam called The Polderweg. Doug fell in love with her right away, while I was still looking for a chocolate brown dog - no reason really. Her name was Xena at first, but we changed it to Lina, it fits her a lot better. To see more pictures of Lina click here
top	Roadtrip usa The last big trip we did was our roadtrip in October 2003 across the United States. We went nearly 8000 miles in our little VW Golf and visited friends and family in every state we crossed. It was a fun adventure and we have lots of pictures to prove it. click here	Wakkerstraat 6-1e In December 2003 we moved to Amsterdam. We found a great place on Wakkerstraat in the Watergraafsmeer district. Our furniture, which was shipped from the US via container, arrived on the 31st of December and it all had to move through the window into our apartment.
